A 26-year-old Polish woman identified as Elva has sparked widespread concern after reportedly injecting uncertified silicone and cosmetic substances into her face every day, leaving her almost unrecognizable.
According to reports, Elva, who could not afford professional cosmetic procedures, turned to black-market beauty products purchased online and began self-administering injections without medical supervision.
The woman reportedly started with fat-dissolving injections twice weekly before progressing to injectable silicone and lipolysis substances. Over time, she increased the injections to a daily routine in an attempt to reshape her appearance.
Speaking to a Polish media outlet, Elva explained that financial struggles prevented her from seeking qualified specialists.
“I started doing silicone injections once a week, then eventually every day,” she reportedly said.
Medical experts have since warned that the substances used were uncertified and potentially dangerous. Doctors expressed concern about severe swelling around her eyes and possible long-term health complications, including infections and permanent tissue damage.
Aesthetic medicine physician Dr. Marek Wasiluk reportedly stated that while no life-threatening infection has appeared yet, complications could still develop months later.
Psychologists also linked the situation to possible body dysmorphia, a mental health condition where individuals become excessively focused on perceived flaws in their appearance.
The case has triggered fresh debate online about the growing use of unsafe cosmetic products sold through illegal markets and the dangers of self-administered beauty procedures.
