A Chinese woman has shared her painful experience after a cosmetic eye procedure allegedly went terribly wrong, leaving her with long-term vision problems and emotional trauma.
The woman, identified in reports as Ms. Zhang, reportedly underwent double eyelid surgery in 2021 at a beauty clinic in Weifang, located in China’s Shandong Province.
According to her account, the procedure was meant to correct uneven corners around her eyes, but complications allegedly occurred during the operation.

Zhang claimed that while the surgery was taking place, she experienced unusual discomfort around her eyeball but was reassured by the surgeon that everything was normal.
However, after the stitches were removed, she allegedly noticed that her left eyeball appeared attached to the corner of her eye by tissue or stitching.
According to reports, the clinic later attempted a corrective operation to separate the affected areas, but the second procedure reportedly failed.
The woman said her condition worsened afterward, leading to inflammation, blurred vision and difficulty moving her left eye normally.
She reportedly explained that she now has to move her head sideways because her eye movement has become severely restricted.
Zhang also claimed the complications affected her emotionally and contributed to depression as she struggled with the physical consequences of the failed surgery.
Reports say she hopes to undergo reconstructive treatment at a hospital in Shanghai but currently lacks the financial resources needed for the procedure.
According to the woman, she paid approximately 30,000 yuan (about $4,200) for the original surgery and later requested compensation from the clinic.
However, she alleged that the surgeon refused to refund the full amount and only offered partial compensation, which she said would not cover travel and medical expenses.
The story has triggered renewed discussion online about the risks associated with cosmetic surgery and the importance of choosing qualified medical professionals.
Double eyelid surgery remains one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in China, but experts warn that poorly performed operations can lead to serious complications affecting both appearance and vision.
